Court refuses to toss CREW win against DOGE

Washington — In an opinion issued Wednesday night, United States District Judge Christopher Cooper denied the US DOGE Service’s motion to reconsider his previous ruling that DOGE is likely subject to FOIA in a suit brought by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. DOGE is still required to preserve documents and process CREW’s FOIA requests on an expedited schedule. CREW Executive Director and Chief Counsel Donald Sherman issued the following statement:

“We applaud the court’s decision and will continue our work to ensure the public has access to the information about DOGE and their government that they are legally entitled to.”
