As you know, CRS works exclusively for the United States Congress, providing policy and legal analysis to committees and Members of both the House and Senate, regardless of party affiliation. CRS provides research and analysis consistent with our core values of objectivity, nonpartisanship, and authoritativeness. As shared staff to congressional committees and Members of Congress, CRS experts assist at every stage of the legislative process—from the early considerations that precede bill drafting, through committee hearings and floor debate, to the oversight of enacted laws and various agency activities.
The AD reports directly to the CRS Director and serves as the head of FDT, one of five major CRS research divisions, managing approximately 100 professional research staff in its production of timely written products and consulting services in support of the U.S. Congress. The DAD supports the AD in managing FDT and in collaborating with the other research divisions within CRS. Areas of research, analysis, and consultative support covered by FDT include U.S. foreign policy, institutions, and budgets; regional and transnational affairs; foreign assistance and international development; national security strategies, policies, and budgets; military operations, personnel, logistics, acquisition and related issues; international trade and finance; and foreign policy legislation.
CRS seeks to attract a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates. Women, minorities and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Questions about the posting may be directed to Nancy Warrick at [email protected].
