Call for Applications – SHAFR Administrative Fellow on Website Renovation
SHAFR is seeking applications from interested members – with a preference for graduate students and/or precariously employed members –who would like to serve as a SHAFR administrative fellow through the end of 2021, with the likelihood of renewal for 2022.
The specific job of this administrative fellow would be to
- Serve as the point person gathering input from the various organizational stakeholders interested in the SHAFR website revamp (e.g., Web Committee, IT Director, Teaching Committee, and Passport editor),
- Based on input from stakeholders, make a recommendation to Council ahead of its June 2021 meeting for how best to proceed with the revamp, and
- Develop a concrete plan/timeline for proceeding with the revamp following the June Council decision and communicating to stakeholders what their responsibilities will be that will be submitted to Council ahead of its early January 2022 meeting.
- If renewed for 2022, the administrative fellow would be responsible for helping to coordinate the carrying out of this planned timeline.
SHAFR envisions this as requiring no more than 100 hours of work over the course of the year and being compensated at the flat rate of $2,000. The administrative fellow would be an independent contractor of SHAFR—not an employee. Therefore SHAFR will not deduct taxes from this pay, contribute to retirement, or provide other benefits. The successful candidate will have to complete a W-9 form as a condition of employment.
Those who are interested in applying should send a C.V. and short letter of interest outlining their skills and interest in the position, which will be open until filled. All materials as well as any questions should be emailed to [email protected]
